July 14th Monthly Meeting:  Roses in Jeopardy

We will have a surprise guest presenter!  The topic, "Roses in Jeopardy" will cover a lot of information about roses that might be in jeopardy this year -- stuff about diseases that everyone should be aware of and information about rose shows that might pertain to all of our gardens.

Meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month from Juanuary through October at Boerner Botanical Gardens (9400 Boerner Dr. in Hales Corners in the Education and Visitor Center's lower level multi-media room.  (Boerner's address is:  9400 Boerner Dr., Hales Corners, WI).  Meetings are held at 7:00 PM on the second Tuesday of each month.
Our mission:  To promote interest in all aspects of rose horticulture via educational programs, rose shows,  garden tour, and participation in rose-related community projects.

June 27 Rose Show Results and Pictures

We had a beautiful rose show and the largest we have had in the past decade!  We are indebted to Paul and Gerri Guerino and to Dave Hoefer for taking pictures at the show.  It is my intent to post them all this week so be sure to check back.

Our second rose show is on Sunday, Aug. 9 at the Wisconsin State Fair (in the Horticulture Building).  For this show, there is no entry fee but you will have to pay the usual admission to the Fair.

For your convenience and interest, click here for a PDF of the Show Schedules.  For questions, please feel free to e-mail or phone co-chairs Betty Gurschke  (414.425.7039) or Jan Staedler (414.774.5567).
